First Lego League Jr. Lego Club for Girls
Who can apply? All Second Grade and Third Grade Girls
What is the Jr. Lego Club: FIRST LEGO League Jr.* is non-competitive and is designed to introduce STEM concepts to kids ages 6 to 10 while exciting them through a brand they know and love − LEGO®. All skill levels are welcomed and needed, technical or non-technical.
What do I need to do to apply?
Complete the application and return it by the due date no later than 3 pm. Look for the application in Family Folders next Friday.
Is there a fee?
There is a one-time $25 dollar fee that will include a team t-shirt and help with meeting materials and Expo fees.
How will team members be chosen?
Due to the limit set by First Lego League for a team, 6 children who turn in the completed application by the due date will be chosen by a random drawing. Parents will be notified and must sign and return the acceptance letter by the date listed to reserve their child’s spot. If the form is not returned by the acceptance deadline, the spot will be offered to another student.
When will they meet?
Meetings will be on Wednesdays starting on October 12th from 3:00 to 4:15.
What else do I need to know?
There is an Expo after our holiday break (date TBA) that the team will attend either in Spartanburg or Charleston. This is the culminating event and it is very important that all members attend. Parents are responsible for providing transportation to the event.
